Seventy of Scotland's leading artists have already received Scottish Arts Council Creative Scotland Awards. They exemplify the depth and breadth of talent in Scotland and many have international reputations for excellence. They include visual artists, writers, poets, crafts makers, playwrights, dancers, film-makers, sculptors, and artists working across several artforms. They sometimes choose to work in collaboration with other artists, and often with artists from other countries, to create world class work. While most of the artists were born in Scotland, many have chosen to come to Scotland to live and work. Amongst those who have come from abroad to make their lives here are artists from Russia, the United States of America, England, Japan, Northern Ireland, New Zealand, and the Republic of Ireland. As you will find on this site, all the artists are thrilled to have received an Award, not only because it helps them achieve their dream project, but because they are proud to be acknowledged by their country.
