Maintenance Officer - North Edinburgh Arts
16 per week, 9am to 1pm Tuesday to Friday
Main purpose of the job
To maintain the fabric of the NEA building and keep it in a good state of repair, and to ensure a safe, healthy and comfortable environment is maintained for all users and staff members.
Key Tasks
• General maintenance of the building
• Manage all fire-safety issues to include regular fire drills, alarm tests and record keeping
• Review, with the Depute Director, relevant health and safety issues and actions
• Conduct Health and Safety/ Fire Safety inductions for new staff/tenants
• Carry out all non-technical set ups and take downs
• Day to day repairs and replacements, eg. light bulbs, non-techncial fixtures and fittings
• Manage all equipment and materials storage areas
• Control of the heating, lighting and water supplies to ensure economy of resources
• Research and monitor environmental improvements to work towards carbon emission reductions generated by the premises
• Liaise with all building maintenance contractors
• Engage and liaise with all contractors for repairs
